Content is king, as they say and if you want to make your blog popular then you must make mouth-watering content. Anxiety will grow as you feel the stress of driving more traffic into your blog. You would not be able to monetize your blog if you don’t have much traffic. The best solution is to make your content outstanding and here are some tips that you can use.
Become the ultimate resource
Using your advocacy as your springboard, make sure that your blog is positioned as the premier blog for that advocacy. If you are talking about diabetes, make sure that you have relevant and useful content on how to diagnose, treat and manage high blood glucose. To do this, you need hours and hours of research and interviews apart from your own personal experience about the topic. No, there is no shortcut in achieving this feat. You need to work on this to reach the ultimate resource status. To know that you have become the ultimate resource, other blogs will start to make you are their source.
Create original content
With Google putting its feet down with the release of Panda and Penguin; it is high time to shift to serious content generation. Creating original content means that the ideas are original and the presentation is original. Don’t be a second-rate copy of someone else; be a first-rate copy of your blog. Creating original content may seem tedious as it entails much thinking and researching on your part. But, later you will realize that all the efforts you exerted in trying to come up with original content would definitely pay off. This is so true especially when you start noticing the increasing traffic to your site.
There are three things that can attract readers to your blog. The three things are headlines, headlines and headlines. Did you know that at least 80 percent of people will read just the headline and the 20 percent go on to read the content. Make sure you create compelling headlines to make it attractive to readers. Learn to create catchy subtitles as well. Make sure that your headlines or subtitles are easy to read and easy to browse for online readers who are on the go.
Create thought-provoking content
Stephen King uses this technique to engage with readers and keep them at the edge of your seat. Can you go against the success of King? Certainly not. This is perhaps the best argument in favor of creating thought-provoking content. By creating this kind of content you are engaging with your readers. You are also allowing them to stay and
even leave comments as well. Thought-provoking content may entail much diligence in researching and improving one’s writing style. But, as soon as you master this skill everything will just happen in a breeze.
Sprinkle it with other media
Your blog should not be confined only with text. You need to sprinkle some videos or put a pinch of audio in the mix. Adding videos, images and audio raises the value of your blog. Not to mention the fact that it also lowers down the dull factor. Just make sure to post videos and other media that is completely related to your blog content. Otherwise, your blog is better off without these.
Keep it short and simple
It is said that you will lose readers at the 750 word mark. Simply put, never write content that is more than 750 words. Go straight to the point and fill your content with information that is relevant and necessary. Don’t stuff the article with information that is useless and irrelevant. You risk providing the readers the wrong impression and missing out on the opportunity to put across what are the important aspects of your advocacy.
Every blog post must be fresh and relevant. If you take this for granted; be ready to say goodbye to the potential of your blog to make some traffic. Look at more established blogs and emulate them (not copy!). You may learn some lessons from them.
